Allister Thompson Steen uses the nyckelharpa as the basis for a collection of moody, windswept instrumentals. Far from a gimmick, he wrings true emotion from this ancient instrument. This is a wonderful album.

about

A post-apocalyptic soundtrack to the New Stone Age after civilization. Nyckelharpa strings, drum, and bullroarer come together as the hunter gatherer survivors of the collapse of society stagger out into nature on an epic journey of scavenging from Scandinavia to the Atlantic coast of Belgium to build a new humanity on the flooded ruins of modernity.
